2 years ago InspectaHomeSpain published our first survey report, based on 350 new property inspections www.thesnaggingforum.com and with the incredible changes that the Spanish property market has gone through an update was overdue.

In the latest survey we look at inspection results for 700 properties, checked over the period from April 2007 – December 2008, in the Costa Blanca, Costa Calida, Costa Almeria and Costa del Sol areas.

Finally mortgages are getting cheaper… To the relief of stretched homeowners, the sun’s peeking through the mortgage clouds. In the last week Abbey, HSBC, RBS & Natwest amongst others joined Nationwide, Halifax, First Direct and C&G in offering new cheaper fixed deals. Some pretty decent rates are now around e.g. two years fixed at 5.6% with a £500 fee, substantially lower than a few months ago.

If you have a mortgage, in the next few months you may have to accept the new interest rate hike from your bank, or try and find a better deal.
